Best Western Kelowna Hotel Fitness Centre

Take advantage of our Kelowna Hotel Fitness Centre to get in shape.

You work hard to eat healthy and stick to your exercise routine at home. The Best Western Kelowna Hotel understands that. This is why our Kelowna accommodations offer fitness center at no extra charge to our guests.

Traveling can take a toll on your body. Changes in sleep patterns, eating habits, and exercise routine can affect your concentration. If you are traveling for business, this isn’t a good thing!

Take advantage of the fitness center. The Best Western Kelowna Hotel has a weight machine, treadmill, exercise bike and mats. In whatever time you have, try and workout as much of your body as possible: legs, arms, chest/back, and abs.

We asked local personal trainer Becky Habib for some exercise tips for our hotel guests. Here are her suggestions for having a great hotel workout in 30-45 minutes.

In groups of 2 exercises, do 12-15 reps of each of these exercises taking a 30 second rest after you do both exercises. Alternate the exercises 2 or 3 times, depending on your fitness level. All of these exercises can be done in the fitness center.

  • Leg extensions
  • Leg curls
  • Wide grip pull down
  • Incline press
  • Biceps curls
  • Tricep dips (can rest hands on exercise bench)
  • Crunches (short crunched sit-ups, not full up and down)
  • Plank hold (holding a push-up position on your elbows or hands)

A total body workout should include at least 15 minute of cardio on the treadmill or exercise bike. (30 minutes is better!)

If you have the time and like to swim, use the hotel’s fabulous indoor, heated swimming pool. Swimming is great exercise for total body benefits.

You also need to drink plenty of water. Dehydration is common in travelers and water is always necessary when you work out with weights or are doing cardio. If you don’t have much time to workout remember this: something is better than nothing. If you can just spare 15 minutes on the treadmill, then do it! There is always something you can do for your body.

Most restaurants offer healthy eating choices, so keep an eye out for them. ORA Kitchen & Bar, the restaurant next to our Kelowna hotel, has many to choose from.

Stay consistent and you’ll keep the results coming—even when you travel.
