|Rutland May Days are here!|
May is the month when travel to Kelowna starts to pick up for the summer season. With the May long weekend just a hop, skip and a jump away, The Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel and Suites want to give you the scoop on events around Kelowna.
Nick van de Wall, better known as Afrojack, is a producer and musician who won a Grammy award in 2011. He’ll be playing Kelowna’s Waterfront this long weekend before heading off to Vancouver on his ‘Jacked’ America tour.
Papa Wheely is a rock band that will be playing at The Best Western’s very own 97 Street Pub this Friday and Saturday. The 97 Street Pub is connected to our Kelowna hotel and offers daily food and drink specials, featuring a wide variety of local Okanagan beer, coolers, wine, and premium liquors.
Best Western Kelowna Hotel guests often take advantage of our in-hotel fitness centre. Fitness fans may want to visit the Kelowna Community Theatre this Saturday to watch the Western Canadian Body Building and Fitness Show.
The month of May is Asian heritage month and this weekend, families in Kelowna can come to the Kelowna Art Gallery on Sunday afternoon to make kites together.
May also brings on the annual Rutland May Days, perfect for the kids! Enjoy the Food Fair, West Coast Amusement rides, and live music at the Rutland Centennial Park. This four-day event runs May 17 through May 20th.
In one of the more heart-tugging events this May long weekend, the Kelowna General Hospital and the Central Okanagan Hospice House invite the community to join them in “Walk of Memories.” This is a way to honour and remember those who have died at KGH and Hospice House in recent months. This is a way for remembering to happen in a healthy, inclusive, and family-friendly way. The walk starts at The Dolphins at 2 pm on Sunday.
Kelowna events are second to none. If you need accommodations in Kelowna when you come for the May long weekend, give us a call.
