Easter is a glorious time of year in the Okanagan. If you and your family are staying at Kelowna pet friendly hotels in the region, you may be on the hunt for more than just Easter eggs. With winter giving way to spring, there are many exciting indoor and outdoor activities to participate in this time of year.

Outdoor

Jack Seaton Easter Egg Hunt: Located just 15 minutes north of Kelowna, Lake Country’s Jack Seaton Park provides an idyllic backdrop for this ever-popular (and free) Easter egg hunt. Every year, hundreds of families gather on Good Friday in a mad scramble to find one of the lucky golden eggs.

Kelowna Farmers’ Market: Every April, the Kelowna Farmers’ Market—one of the largest of its kind in Western Canada—switches from its indoor locale at Parkinson Rec Centre to the outdoor venue across from the Orchard Park Mall on Dillworth Avenue. You’d be surprised at just how much produce is available this time of year—from cellared root vegetables and apples to fresh micro greens and salad mixes—to go along with an assortment of artisan breads and cheeses and other unique hand-crafted items.

Carnival Night: For a family-friendly adventure from your Kelowna pet-friendly hotel, check out Big White Mountain Resort’s Carnival Night, which goes Saturdays until April 11. Hosted in the resort’s quaint Village Centre Mall, the event includes prizes and activities such as face painting, as well as carnival treats.

Indoor

If the weather isn’t quite cooperating with your planned outdoor activities, or if you simply prefer to remain indoors with the family, there are a number of intriguing options for people staying at Kelowna pet-friendly hotels:

Museums: To learn a little about the area’s history, there are numerous museums that offer an educational experience for the entire family—BC Orchard Industry Museum, Okanagan Heritage Museum, Kelowna Museum and the Okanagan Military Museum.

Historic sites: For a selection of selection of historic sites in the area, read this post: Kelowna Historic Sites Near Dog-Friendly Hotels in the Okanagan.

If you’re looking to unwind after your Easter adventures, having a soak in the hot tub or booking a massage at The Wellness Spa at the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel & Suites is a great way to relax. As one of the premier Kelowna pet-friendly hotels, Best Western is centrally located to provide convenient access to downtown, the airport and shopping district.
