As another fabulous Okanagan summer season comes to a close, the staff at our hotel in Kelowna are still keeping busy welcoming guests and helping them make the most out of their fall visit to our beautiful city. Gone are the hot days spent lounging by our mineral pool and frolicking in our 1 acre courtyard, as well as sending guests off to the beaches and water parks to cool off. We know, we know...there’s nothing like summer in the Okanagan and we’ll miss it too. Now wipe that tear from your eye and cheer up because with the arrival of fall brings with it a whole new plethora of fun things to do!
- Wineries in the Okanagan are in full swing (although they don’t really stop swinging to be honest!) and visitors can explore the vineyards at the heart of harvest time. With one of our Wine Packages, guests can spend the day touring some amazing wineries, complete with tastings & treats! Then end the day at our Kelowna hotel to enjoy a glass of a favorite BC wine on the guestroom's private patio or balcony. If that’s not enough to entice you, the 2012 Fall Okanagan Wine Festival runs from September 28th – October 7th and is a must-do for any wine lover!
- From September 21st – 23rd the Rutland Park Society proudly presents September Days! With everything from delicious fair food, amusement rides, kids’ games and live music, this is a great fall family event in Kelowna.
- A favorite fall activity for any family is a visit to Kelowna’s McMillan Farms or Vernon’s Davison Orchards. Explore corn mazes, take a hay ride, pet the farm animals and even pick your pumpkins for Halloween. Both local family-run farms are warm and inviting to all visitors, so go celebrate harvest season with them!
- Strolling along Okanagan Lake or through one of Kelowna’s many parks is ideal for enjoying the sunshine and crisp fall air (the weather is known to still be beautiful this time of year, we promise.) The Kokanee salmon can be seen making their run up Mission Creek, the leaves start to dazzle you with their changing colors and hiking up Knox Mountain to check out the breathtaking view of Kelowna is way easier to do when it’s not 30 degrees outside!
Don’t despair that summer is over and don’t put those suitcases away just yet! The fall season still offers visitors a chance to experience lots of fun, and our Kelowna hotel can be your launchpad to fall adventure. Just think of us as specialists in the department of fun for every season.
