As the largest centre in the Interior, Kelowna boasts some of the best shopping the area has to offer. And while there are numerous malls and larger centres near our Kelowna hotels, sometimes our guests don’t have time to look up the more unique retail events the city has to offer.
If you’re visiting one of the hotels in Kelowna this month and you’re keen to participate in a more intimate shopping experience, we’ve compiled a list of upcoming events that promise fun and excitement.
Gather your sisters, mothers and girlfriends for an evening of shopping, refreshments, tapas and friendship at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Kelowna (839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna). The fun goes from 6:30-9:30 p.m., and ladies-only will include crafts and retail products made by local vendors. Admission is $5, plus a food donation for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
For a health-oriented shopping experience, the Holistic Market is the perfect choice. Held at the Laurel Packinghouse (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) in downtown Kelowna (1304 Ellis Street), this event features crystals, jewelry, sound, bamboo clothing and art. Visitors can participate in sessions with:
There will also be an opportunity for shoppers to try Tesla energy healing, Shiatsu massage, Reiki, forensic healing and BodyTalk. Admission is free, but donations to the Central Okanagan Food Bank are graciously accepted.
Just a short drive up Highway 97 in Lake Country, guests staying at Kelowna hotels can stock up on small, affordable artwork made by Okanagan artists. This represents the sixth annual event for Under 100, which is hosted by the Lake Country Art Gallery (10356A Bottom Wood Lake Road).
This one-of-a-kind shopping experience follows a unique concept: artwork in all mediums will be on exhibit, with small works under 100 square inches priced less than $100. There will also be and a selection of works under 200 and 300 square inches that will be priced less than $200 and $300, respectively.
This year’s exhibition runs from 3-6 p.m. and will feature original work from more than 60 Okanagan artists. Tickets are $10.
For the 5th year in the row, Bo.ttega is holding its annual Christmas Market on their beautiful farm property. The event features arts, crafts, live music, food, and activities, with over 50 vendors converging to share their wares. The event runs the weekend of November 28-29 from 11AM - 5PM.
Admission is $3, with all proceeds going to the Karis Support Society, an organization that provides a loving home for women struggling with addictions and mental health challenges. Admission is free for children.
The 25th anniversary celebration of For the Love of Art Almighty will feature some of the top potters and artisans from across the Okanagan all gathered under one roof. This weekend event goes 10AM - 5PM daily at the Rotary Centre for the Arts (421 Cawston Avenue). Admission is by donation.
