There’s never a bad time to visit the Okanagan, but to see it at its finest, July is one of the best times of year to book your hotels in Kelowna. There’s so much to see and do with all of the lakes and surrounding nature, but when you throw in the local special events going on this time of year, you really are spoiled for choice.

Half the excitement of Okanagan wine tours is getting to experience the vineyards and see firsthand how the winemaking process unfolds. The other half, of course, is sampling the goods and choosing your favourite varietals. How you arrive at those Okanagan wineries is up to you, but there are plenty of intriguing modes of transport you might not have considered.

It’s that time of year when locals and visitors staying at hotels in Kelowna start looking towards Okanagan Lake and raising the courage to dip their toes in the slightly chilly waters. A few hardy souls can be seen as early as April, clad in thick wetsuits as they’re towed behind impressive wakeboard boats. For them, the goose bumps are worth it because they love having the lake to themselves.
