Join Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm for a day of food, music, workshops and art! This year's proceeds will go to support the ALS Cycle of Hope Educational Fund for Families.

Soak up the captivating scent of fresh lavender as you take in A Celebration of Falling Gardens art exhibit at the Okanagan Lavender Herb Farm (4380 Takla Road).

This fundraising event, which supports the ALS Cycle of Hope Family Education Fund, mixes great art with food and music for a relaxing time. The family-oriented outing features local vendors, as well as activities and workshops planned throughout the day:

Annabel Stanley basket weaving—10:30 a.m.
Lavender wreaths—11 a.m. & 1 p.m.
Lavender wands—11 a.m. & 4 p.m.
Children’s fairy garden class—10 a.m.
Aromatherapy workshops—10:30 a.m. & 4 p.m.

Monster Energy Center of Gravity, the Okanagan’s biggest adrenaline-fueled sports and music festival is returning to the shores of Okanagan Lake and Kelowna’s City Park for its eighth year.

This ever-popular annual event, dubbed ‘Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival,’ combines the best of electronic dance, hip hop and live music with the acrobatic feats of some of Canada’s top athletes.

This year’s stage lineup features more than 60 musical acts, including:

  • Diplo
  • Flo Rida
  • Knife Party
  • Zeds Dead
  • Deorro
  • Atmosphere
  • Phantogram
  • 3Lau
  • Makj
  • Bliss N Eso

On the sports side of things, there’ll be thousands of dollars in cash and prizes up for grabs in the competitive beach volleyball and basketball tournaments. Other spectator friendly events include:

  • Wakeboarding and wakeskating
  • Motocross freestyle
  • Skateboarding and BMX

There’ll also be recreational volleyball and monstrous slip 'n' slides available for visitors.

 

Free Is Good—All Month

For travellers on a budget, it’s always nice to have access to free events. Festivals Kelowna, a non-profit society, is hosting a series of free outdoor concerts across the city’s parks as part of Parks Alive! It’s a great opportunity to grabs a few friends and a blanket or beach chair and sit back and enjoy the entertainment. The July programme includes:
