Ecotourism has become the fastest growing segment of the travel industry, with the majority of travellers seeking eco-friendly experiences. BC is leading with way with nearly 100 tourism businesses certified by Green Tourism Canada. The Okanagan is rapidly becoming an ecotourism hotspot, with the creation of an electric highway, sustainability support from the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association and businesses that are committed to improving their environmental performance.

Our Best Western Kelowna hotel has recently become the first ecobase Certified organization! The ecobase program was created to help businesses calculate their carbon footprint and help them find sustainable initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint even further.

Just this summer, Sun Country Highway wrapped up its third annual E-Mazing Race. Electric vehicle enthusiasts made the incredible trek across Canada in their eco-friendly vehicles. Best Western Kelowna Hotel's EV charging stations—now five of them—were part of the month-long race to help these travellers get to their next destination.
